THE NEW AGE Mediclinic showed optimism yesterday as it mooted expectations of continued growth, amidst the backdrop of more macroeconomic challenges and anticipation increased competition. The private hospital group said it will also continue to make additional investments in operations in order to drive competitive advantage. Mediclinic CEO Danie Meintjes said although half yearly earnings before interest taxation depreciation and amortisation (ebidta) margins were expected to come out lower than the comparative 21.6%, trading was still in line with management's expectations. He said business in the southern Africa and Switzerland regions delivered yet another growth in patient activity.
